This is a quiet restful spot right on the golden Coromandel beach, just south of Chennai, and is built on the ramparts of an old Dutch fort. The rustic cottages on the beach front provide great views of the Bay of Bengal, and the beach is clean and well maintained.
The sound of the waves is completely soporific and as Chennai airport is only 25 miles distant, this is an alternative from the city as a place to stop and get your breath after a long flight, before embarking on a tour of Tamil Nadu.
