Primrose Villas, Chikmagalur

Stunning – what else can we say? Primrose Villas is a beautiful boutique hotel stay, tucked away on the mountain tops of the Western ghats near the town of Chikmagalur, about a 4 hour drive from Bangalore. Set in a 600 acre, 122 year old ancestral coffee estate property, it comprises five spectacular stand alone villas, each with their own private landscaped garden affording amazing mountain views and serenity, peace and tranquility.

The owners, Ravi and Sumitra Ramu, have given the place the most wonderfully modern yet homely feel, with an amazing mix of ethnic, contemporary and antique furnishings.  The villas with their high ceilings and glass walls afford the most spectacular views yet provide complete privacy in their lovely settings.

Nothing is too much trouble – you can have breakfast whenever you like, and there are several dining option locations around the property for lunch or dinner – you choose –  in your villa, on your private sit out verandah, in the main dining room, under the trees or the stars – all with the stunning scenery to savour – not to mention the fine dining.

If you can bear to tear yourself away from this haven, there is also plenty to do like trekking to nearby mountain tops, walking on the coffee estate, swimming in the cold water springs, and visiting the unique UNESCO World Heritage temple sites at Belur and Halebid just 40 minutes away.
